Strong but requires hull down
T-29 is a good tank to use if you want to start getting used to playing hull down tactics which is how most 7.0 or higher rated US tanks are best used. Turret will deflect nearly everything it faces except for higher rated vehicles so it works best either fighting on hills and slopes where you can fight without exposing the hull(this is called "hull down" for those who don't know) or sitting behind cover just high enough to hide your mediocre 102mm hull armor but low enough you can shoot over it. Try to avoid getting in brawls as you'll have about a 20s reload time and any hit through the turret sides will detonate the 1st stage ammo rack and\or kill your commander, gunner, and both loaders all of whom are cramped close together. Main gun and the gun breach are also very fragile and easy to damage or destroy. Fighting at range hull down will let T-29 show it's real worth.
