Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - Hive Scum Class

I like this class. I do NOT like how AGGRESSIVELY bad it performs. You created your own worst enemy with Havoc 40. You locked dual weapons to ONE class. That was a genuinely terrible idea. Charging as much as you have for this VERY lack luster class and barely any new missions since Arbities. Vermintide 2 genuinely gets more content for free, while you charge darktide with a fomo shop, that DEFINITELY isnt suppling us free content. Now, we have a underpreforming class that is splitting your community.Wheres the line on quality control FatShark? Because the current route is dangerously lacking in retention.

I want to preface this by saying that thematically and conceptually, I enjoy Hive Scum as a class. Voicework is top-notch and excellet, animation and audio on the new weapons are satsifying, no complaints there. When it comes to playing the class however, they require more effort and finagling just to achive what other classes can do with little effort. Survivability is next to nothing for Hive Scum, and damage output only feels okay. I'm not the best at WH:40K DT, but from the get-go I could tell that something felt off with the class. Which is a shame, because the new dual weaponry are quite fun. Feels like Fatshark want the class to perform like a glass cannon, but it feels like all glass, no cannon. Edit 12/17/2025 - After playing around with the class more, with Fatshark moving some talents around and adjusting them, and finally getting a feel for Hive Scum's idiosyncracies, they're fine. They're fun, and they actualy feel like a glass cannon now. Rating increased to 3/5

Glass cannon for sure but 1 mistake and you're down.

But can the next one be server stability?

I find the class way to underpowered the crowbar doesn't do enough damage nor does it apply enough brittleness to make crushers killable with the weapon itself the skills on the class aren't able to compete with the other FREE classes the only good build is toxic bom desperado and twin shredder pistols and even then it doesn't feel the best to play so no it isn't worth the money.
