Wintermoor Tactics Club

Probably one of my favorite tactics games. Combat is deterministic (You know who enemies will focus on attacking and damage has fixed values), making fights an engaging puzzle in swapping out characters, traits and abilities, and strategies to achieve victory. Not punishing to progress, but challenging to get high ranks on fights, which I found to be a good balance. The story is well written, with fleshed out characters and interesting scenarios; has good themes and messages without getting too preachy. I definitely recommend this game!

Combat is super simple and not set up like any other tactics type game. You have to pay attention to what the enemies are going to attack as a strategy to win battles paying attention to every enemies detailed information. This means to get s rank can be quite frustrating requiring multiple battle restarts. If you're not going to go for s rank winning battles is almost a given. The game is rated 10 and up however later you get a character who is a demon princess of the game world's hell that you have no choice but to use who later gets a skill item with a pentagram symbol. A warning about this would have been nice since I don't care for that kind of thing. If you do more power to you but for those of us that don't it is an issue. To sum up too easy on one hand too annoying on the other. Peace out.
