ARCADE GAME SERIES: Ms. PAC-MAN

When i installed this game i expected ms. pack-man to be as fast as she was on the 25 cents fed arcade machine. the controls were about as clunky on the physical machine without practice. I just expected the game to be more fast pace.

The beloved Mrs Pac Man is back for XB1. It's the classic game and it's still fun . Though the controls for XB feels less than optimal. And why they left out local multi play. Or 2player hot seat is beyond me. It somehow takes away from that arcade, atari ,and other console fun we used to have. Still worth getting if you love Mrs Pac Man, though.

Everything about this recreation is dead on.....except.....the controls. For a game that only requires you to go up, down, left, right....managing this using either the thumbstick or the D-Pad is an excercise in frustration. You WILL miss turns and go the wrong way, especially at critical times. This really does need a joystick that can be thrown around with agressive intent.

You can use either the directional pad or the left thumbstick to control Ms. Pacman. The thumbstick doesn't feel "right" on the One, its "wonky", so I have resorted to using the D Pad, but Ms. Pacman still has issues negotiating the mazes; I find that there are certain corners where she seems to become "stuck" for a split second, before obeying the command to turn the corner and head another direction. While this isn't as big of an issue at the begining of the game, it will become the bane of your existence once you reach higher difficulty levels, where pursuing ghosts will get you in these death-traps almost every time ... If you are in the mood for an hour or so of nostalgic gaming, for less than the price of a cheeseburger - pick it up. But if you are picking this up as a serious Pac-player, leaderboard assassin, or just want to experience the best Ms. Pacman you can, this isn't it.

Ms. PAC-MAN is very fun for short play time... My only problem is the border when playing gets anyoing but other then that its a great game!!!
