Beasts of Maravilla Island

Great little game. The artwork is pretty fantastic with really good music. It was relaxing. It's like a find-it book in video game form. A few very simple puzzles. Honestly, 5 stars for the beautiful art and for being good at what it is.

This is somewhat like Pokémon Snap where you take wildlife pictures, except you're not on rails. Visuals are unique and stylized, sound is good, puzzles are easy if you pay attention, and th achievements are super easy to get. Not bad for a GwG title, but it's not for everyone. Kids and nature lovers should like it.

A creature photography collectathon game, similar to Pokémon Snap but in an adventure format instead of on the rails. Pretty much just going around to 3 areas and taking pictures of the local plants, animals and bugs. The game has some decent visuals and would be a pretty good short adventure game for those who want a chill experience, ~2-3hrs to complete. If you care about achievements, they are all pretty easy to get but buggy, have to get them all without closing the game.

Chill and relaxing photography game. Get ready to take lots of photos. The journal is always there if you need a hint on beasts with multiple behaviors. Puzzles are simple and ineractive with the beasts. Great assets and handwritten art. Things I'm not too keen of: Framerate makes the game feel unnecessarily slow. Sticky feet and no jumping severely limits freedom of movement. Story was way too short - it only had time to focus on the points of "I'm a brat here to have fun with the beasts" and "I need to fulfill my unlce's legacy". (spoiler for all below) No narrative about Marina sharing her findings with the outside world, like she promised before she was let off the boat - this could have been added in as an extra ending scene or an easy segway into a part II of the story. I was expecting to die or at least take some damage while dealing with the Griffon, but I guess not - Marina may be several times more of a scaredy-cat than her uncle, but darn she sure is invincible.

I love the game but wish there was more to the story and more exploring options to the island
