Classic II: Dominique's Curse brings retro-gameplay action to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night!
Featuring a larger map, canon Bloodstained storyline and brand-new gameplay, it's a brand new, old-school adventure. Which ending will you get?
An homage to Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. Classic Mode 2 should be fimiliar to gamers who've played Simon's Quest. For those who haven't grown up in the NES era will likely complain about the gameplay. I grew up playing these types of game and I enjoyed it. I've also enjoyed modern games like Halo, DOOM, Sekiro, etc. So please just give this game mode a chance.
Here's a few tips:
- Has a day/night time system. Time stops when indoors (shops, save rooms, fortresses). Towns are safe during the day, but the demon residents will turn hostile at night in both indoors & outdoors.
- Make sure to talk to all NPC's in town(s). Pay close attention to their dialogue. As they can give you clues on what to do next. All of their conversations are saved in your menu. Be wary of those that laugh 😈.
- You can travel almost anywhere in the beginning. But some areas are inaccessible until you've acquired certain upgrades from beating certain bosses.
- Waystones can save you a lot of travel time.

AMAZING!!!
Best DLC I've ever played. It's absolutely beautiful. The devs really stayed faithful to the original while keeping things fresh. The music straight slaps, the environments are beautiful and it's all glued together with smooth and enjoyable gameplay. I'm almost done with my first playthrough and I already can't wait for my second! Well done, devs! You did it again! Keep 'em comming, please!

Simon's Quest but good
The hints are less cryptic and there's a map, what else is there to say?

Wonderful Homage to Simon's Quest
It's not a copy & paste of CV2 like classic mode 1. $10 is a pretty good price for it, though you may have to beat the base game first to play it. Make sure you go right at the start, going left gets your butt kicked.

Horribad
Chronic Killer worded it best. You move slow and with the weird jumping mechanics from Double Dragon 2 where you have a specific arch. Meanwhile, you're facing enemies that have vastly superior reach, fly under you to hit your feet, or spam projectiles when not dashing at you. Enemies are all too tanky by the time you reach the second save point. Unlike Castlevania 1, and 3-5, no whip upgrades drop to balance this and the first you can buy is far in. If you don't buy the subweapon knife in the starting area, you're F-ed. Even with it you're too weak. I grew up in the 80's and beat every Castlevania except 3 (never owned CV3) and this is too horribly unbalanced. Bought for $2.50 I should have spent on anything else instead. Solid trash I'll never beat. Oh, and although, yes, it is clearly inspired by Castlevania 2 in the map layout, towns, and day/night cycle, I should point out you do not get EXP of any kind. Killing enemies will not make you stronger or add max HP like in CV2.
