Chess Ultra

Game sucks because nobody plays online? That doesnt mean the game is bad... Great graphics, fun time waster against pc. Picked it up on sale for a bargain. Also I dont understand UI complaints. What are people expecting, a heart rate monitor? The game shows a list of moves and there is a clock right under your name. I also find the dificulty levels fair. If you say grandmaster level is to easy im guessing you are some form of chess god. Yes some board designs and or piece designs and combinations are very difficult to see but irl who the hell is going to play with look alike Easter Island pieces on a washed out stone board in some cave anyway?

This is a really terrific chess game, and I play it with my boys. I am pleading with the developers to make it current gen upgraded! In addition to the frame rates and load time improvements (which are already good) this game is screaming for Quick Resume! Really hoping for that upgrade. Excellent chess game otherwise!

I got this to play with my friend, everything I read online said this game works great with friends no matter the platform. I open the game and struggle for 10 minutes just to realize there is no social tab or anything. The only thing I can do is invite xbox friends when I go to start a game. A little social tab with friend invite codes would go a long way.

Chess Ultra aims at casual players, and that's fine. But the glossy graphics actually hurt the game to the point where it's flat out hard to see pieces and squares. In the Musei Capitali environment, a full quarter of the board is obscured by artificial glare. The Gomorrah level is also problematic, with squares that are hard to see. Graphics are the selling point, I know, but a 2D option for board and pieces would be welcome.

no 2d board options. limited piece and board sets. you can only change the 3d view with right stick, but you can't set any of them as a default, so you'd always need to hold stick if you prefer a different view. spent their efforts on pretty backgrounds with annoying sound effects like a cell phone buzzing. really? on the other hand, its 12 bucks, and has cross platform play. didnt notice any move take back option vs cpu. no learning aids except showing legal moves. most disappointing to me is the lack of 2d boards.
