It's not the game I wanted from 2-3 years ago...but
Unfortunately this is the same case I have with Dead Rising 4, I should hate what they did to it but, I can't. This game is fun it feels just like the good old days of Crackdown, it brings the world back and stands on it's own feet after backlash on Crackdown 2 and not having the boost of a Halo beta.
Although, like I said in the title, this game really needed to come out 2 years ago. Hype for this game died, all the delays did not help it there, especially when you step back and see the game is very short maybe 13 hours to do everything.
This game was very ambitious to attempt full cloud destruction and that was the biggest selling point of the game and for the most part it's not even in the game compared to 2015-2016 when the tech demo and trailers showed massive physical collisions that left real pieces of debris. There isn't even that many tall buildings in New Providence.
But after all that, Crackdown 3 is here, it's real, it exists and it's good.

Not Groundbreaking, Though Incredibly Enjoyable
I hadn't played this game for a few years and decided to play it once again and pick up from where I last left off. I might have free roamed for a bit and did a few missions here and there in 2019, when it came out... but barely scratched the surface.
Simply because my backlog is/ was so huge. Last night I decided to toss it in and didn't stop playing for 5 or 6 hours. The game is exactly what every developer hopes their game will turn out to be... and that's fun.
Theres a lot to do and you are always running into something else to do. What is so magnificent about this game, is its ability to keep you engaged for just one more second, then minute, then before you know it... hours have slipped by.
The way Sumo has seemlessly stitched together missions, collectables and random encounters... is simply brilliant. Always something new to do, around every corner and there's some really cool story and character progression missions also. Nice graphics and atmosphere too. Try it or buy it.

Fun To Play, Nightmare To Complete
For just some chaotic nonsense in a sandbox, I had fun. But late game achievement hunting is some of the worst in gaming. Several car races are a nightmare to get gold on and ESPECIALLY wingsuit races. I refuse to believe anyone playtested these. Then there's 1000 orbs to collect but no in-game way to track them. How something like that is considered acceptable to publish I'll never know. Everyone who was involved in making this game should be required to get the 100% completion in it to see how not to design a game. Oh well, if you don't care about completions though, the rest of it is fun.

Mindless FUN
This game is mindless fun, like really fun. Not much of a story, but interesting though. The art style is amazing, and it goes for a bright color scheme! Definitely worth a playthrough via game pass, but no $60 pricetag here. It should be priced at $30. Great Game!

This Game Deserved Better Ratings
After beating Crackdown 1 & 2 this feels like a proper sequel. Combat is much better and the city feels so big and complex. Only thing I feel was a downgrade is the vehicle damage system and character transformation... but you can play as Terry Crews so that definitely makes up for it.
