Dakar Desert Rally - Deluxe Edition

I was asked if I wanted to race in Datruck or Dabike but I chose Dakar.

Update: The bugs are more widespread than I thought. It isn't just Tabruk, because I now have had 3 different stages ruined by the hand of god sweeping my bike and my opponents bikes off to the side and make us spin all goofy. I think the progress loss come when that bug comes while the autosave glitch is also happening. Previously: There is a gamebreaking moment where all drivers become stuck in the sand and nothing more can be done. Not just the player but the ai drivers too, going round in circles bumping into each other forever. It seems to be related to the autosave staying on. I noticed the autosave symbol stays blinking and never goes away and that's when everything started breaking down. Others said the game abandons you at various levels you reach and you'll have to just accept all your progress being lost., im lvl 27. I figured oh it won't happen to me but it did. It will happen to you too. Make them fix it first. Until then, this game is just a time bomb.

This is a rally RAID game. Sport mode is ok but you truly get a feel for what this game is about in pro mode. Dont listen to the complainers. This is a solid game, its just not easy.

I want to begin this review with a warning. I have encounterd a progress bug that has locked me at lvl 11. Meaning no matter how far I get in the game, my progress resets back to where I was at when I hit lvl 11. I sincerely hope the devs are working on a solution because I have thourougly come to enjoy this game. Full disclosure, despite being a big WRC fan and Rally games in general, I was completely obivious to Dakar. When I saw some review videos on youtube, the first thing that came to mind was Motorstorm. The mixed class races (Bikes ATV, Cars, Trucks) always involved chaos and the tracks were designed with more than one way to get from point A to B. This game's arcade mode , intentionally or not, recaptures all of that chaos and that keeps me coming back. The handling is by no means the best, but as someone who enjoys a challenge, it forces me to stategize when I want to full send it or play it safe. I believe this will be great with a few more quality of life improvements.

Logitech g923 w/ pedals and h-shifter when playing the full extended dakar 20 21 22 maps of sim freemode are easily one of the more challenging yet super fun sim racers out there. Only way to play it imo. Plan to sit back for 300+km per session Dont get confused by the haters
