If you like Streets of Rage and Godzilla, than this game is for you. Great art style, combat feels solid, and story is decent. There is a serious lack of settings though (no rumble, no customized button layout, no visual options, etc) only volume options. The fact that this game is NOT online seems criminal. Ultimately, I'm enjoying it a lot, but I feel like this game could have been so much more. I paid $20 on sale, and I think its worth that.

A love letter to tokusatsu
This is probably the best kaiju game in recent years. Controls are solid, characters were enjoyable, and the premise is interesting. The references were also fun to spot. Recommended for fans of tokusatsu or those who want to play as a giant monster.

Would be great if it wasn't so hard.
More frustrating than anything. Once you complete the Toronto campaign it goes downhill from there. I love the kaiju eiga genre and also love classic coin-op beatem ups like TMNT, Final Fight and X-MEN. Just based on the source material I should be loving this but I'm not. Sure everything looks amazing in general. The kaiju, level design and gameplay mechanics are great. I just wish I could make some headway so I could see more. In the end this game is just too punishing to be enjoyable. It is in serious need of a difficulty setting.
