The Rogue Prince of Persia

It's good. Yes, it's a Dead Cells clone, but how does that make it bad? Progression is steady, there's risk and reward, lots of weapons and boosts to choose from, and it feels great when you get lucky and find awesome builds to slice and dice some Huns. Takes some time getting used to the acrobatic movement and combat, but then it becomes a fine rougelike with plenty to offer, and it's on Gamepass. I'm so tired of gamers that hate video games.

Completely unsure how/ why prior reviewer gave it such a low score. It’s fantastic. A lot of thought guiding you which zone to pick next, story beats, tons of abilities and varied and fun weapons. Also unlock talisman upgrades, w/ various buffs. Soon see build synergies offered like best in genre. Sat down to check out, played hours. Worthy Dead Cells followup! Controls take we bit to grasp but well worth effort: dash on trigger; LB for wall run, & must combine for super smooth, fun traversal.

This soundtrack is incredible. Movement handled a lil to well at times in my plays. Easy to just jump into.

It's simple: if you like the genre, then get this. (IMO, still worth the price if you don't have Game Pass.) Could see it becoming a possible 10 for me once it has a little more time to clean up the rough edges and introduce some new content. And if Dead Cells is any indication of how Evil Empire plans to support this game, then I'm guardedly optimistic about it.

I'm surprised that they are making Prince of Persia games like this again. It's alright and all but it's not anything like the old ones are back in the day.
