Disintegration
Private Division · Action & adventure · Shooter
Disintegration is a sci-fi FPS combined with RTS elements. Pilot a heavily weaponized Gravcycle while commanding your troops on the ground as you battle through a thrilling single-player campaign.
To save the human race, people integrate their brains into robots. As one of these robots who is a pilot, you suddenly decide to go against forced integration for reasons vaguely explained. Before you know it, you're escaping a flying ship with other robots who feel the same way. The story and game could've benefitted from having more levels fleshing out the cause leading up to this moment rather than starting with it. But as a pilot, you get to hover around on a grav-cycle, commanding a robot squad to complete missions against a suppressive force. On the recommended difficulty, you'll feel like a glass cannon. You have firepower but if you rush into fights without utilizing your squad, you'll die superfast. I suggest lowering the difficulty if it gets aggravating with how fragile you are because it'll make the combat feel more balanced and enjoyable. Disintegration isn't a terrible game, just more of a mid level experience that would've benefited from having a bigger budget and story.

Definitely wait for a sale
Such an odd game to describe. It felt like an indie title from 2010. Combat is as expected (strafing bullet sponges with the occasional horde sections), story and voice acting is present (easily forgettable though), locations are varied, and the squad based mechanics are not deep (spam their ultimate ability and use them to rush enemies).

A little breath of fresh air
Actually a small gem amongst the ruff that passes for games lately. Story actually has substance. Robots that u form a few feelings for, which is more than i can say for what passes humans in games now. The few 'naturals' in the game may leave u wanting to know a little more. What shines are decent graphics and campaign that actually feels like one. Only wish would be a little combat diversity;grav cycles could use a little more customizations, and i found myself wanting to see how the heroes could do without it. Iook forward to finishing and seeing what comes next in the quest to reboot humanity.

Falls Short of the Mark
(campaign only) When I heard about an RTS/FPS game, I got excited. Disintegration is not an RTS/FPS, it's a squad combat arcade shooter. While the graphics, design, character voices, and plot are all commendable, the gameplay is bland. Your squad consists of a max of 4 preselected companions, each with one ability. Squad orders are all tied to a single button (LB), the orders themselves being attack, activate object, and move here. I couldn't give separate squadmates orders, only group ones. Hold position deactivates when you move farther than 60m away. Upgrades are done with chips found during missions, and are used to enhance stats, very basic and unfulfilling system. When I reached the second Clear the Dam defense target, the mission bugged and wouldn't send the attack waves, halting progress.
Review written after mission bugged, may update after resetting.

Wasted potential.
This game could have been an absolutely fantastic series if it wasn't abandoned. Once you get use to the controls it's really enjoyable. This is one that needs to be brought back. My only regret is not playing it sooner.
