Fallout 4: Far Harbor

(A quick preface: I played through this dlc on Very Hard at level 70) The Short Version: This dlc is more than worth the price of admission. The Long Version: This dlc is what I was hoping for in the main game. Morally ambiguous plot, skill checks (or as close as you can get with the new perk system), and a hauntingly chilling ambient soundtrack. It brings high-end gear to local shops for high-level players, and a few new interesting ledgendary effects for gear. My biggest complaint would be how underwhelming "The Fog" is. The local doctor claims it to be "Worse than your mainland radiation" but, as far as I can tell, there's NO DIFFERENCE between it and rads in the base game. The difficulty jumps quite a bit too. After fighting through some decently difficult robots, you end up stuck in a room an arms-length away from an assaultron. Yeah, not an easy dlc by any means. Love the shout-out to Moxie as well. Love the stuff. But as something to do post-main story, this dlc is a winner.

This DLC blew my mind! Tons of new weapons and Armor were added to help you take on the foggy terrain. What starts as a missing person case evolves into something more-who are the good guys? The children want to kill Far Harbour, the Far Harbour citizens want to kill the Children and Acadia is nuetral at the time. There are new side quests added also! Have you ever wanteed to be in a Luxurious Vault? Well now you can solve a mystery in one! Have you ever wanted to create your own soda pop? Well now you can! (If you could find the recipe). Overall I will give this DLC 5 stars and it is the best Fallout 4 DLC available to date! What are you waiting for?

This DLC has a lot going on. It introduces a new area up north, Far Harbor and the island which it rests on. The entire island has radioactive fog and there's a synth refuge and you meet many new people and there's many new quests and places to go and see. I enjoy this DLC quite a bit but I wish you could've had the chance to get rid of the fog all together, although I haven't done everything there is to do in Far Harbor so maybe that option is there and I haven't found it yet.

DLC is interesting, Challenging, and tons of fun. Sure you can say it's a remake of fallout 3s DLC, but that one was also Legendary. Plus, this DLC is funner when you get *SPOILER ALERT* the radium rifle, Harpoon gun, and marine gun. Far Harbor is LONG, but it's worth the money. The choices for endings are hard either going with Arcadia, The Children of the Atom, or Far Harbor.

Apart from a hideously repetitive, tedeious, and frustrating mini-game, this was a lovingly-crafted piece of DLC from Bethesda. An intriguing story with likeable characters. I thouroughly enjoyed (almost) every minute spent on The Island. Well done Bethesda, well done.
