For The King is a strategic RPG that blends tabletop and roguelike elements in a challenging adventure that spans the realms. Set off on a single player experience or play cooperatively both online and locally. None before you have returned from their journey. Will you put an end to the Chaos?

Honest Review
I have enjoyed countless playthroughs of For The King. I spent time unlocking each playable character and trying to unlock on the lore. My friends and I have played the multiple modes and have had a great time. That being said, my friend and I played through the story mode and were determined to beat the game for the first time. Out of all our playthrouhgs, we never had. We were a quest away from the ending and encountered a game breaking bug. The one that envolves the hot air balloon. We looked up online for a way to counter act the bug, but were dissappointed that there was none. Our playthrough became forefit. It sucked that we spent all that time to get to the end and were a quest away and then this bug happened. It sad that the developers never set out to fix it. My friend and I have not revisited this game since then. I know that FTK2 is coming out. Because of my experience with the first one, seeing a game ending bug not be fixed, I will be very hesitant about getting the second

Love it!
Beware! A lot of words below! I absolutely love it! I had a blast with my friend, and its honestly better with friends. There isnt really anything wrong with this game that I have noticed. And yes, ive seen other reviews saying "Too many crashes!" but I haven't had a crash once, and I was playing for hours. I highly recommend this game for you and your friends. Ok, there is ONE thing a little bad... Its that players arent taught how to play the game very well. In my first play through i had no idea how to play. I mean dont get me wrong, they do have a place that tells you basic features but its either: 1. Its too long 2. Not explained well 3. Totally unrelated to what your trying to find out. Hell, people might not even know its there! Im also experienced with tabletop RPG's like DnD, so it has nothing to do with experience. Well thats about it. Great game and I love it!

Group rogueish boardgame, not a pure strategy boardgame
I played this back when it was on GP and I thought it was okay for the strategy boardgame genre. I was not impressed. I gave it another try. My original assessment was right. It's much better as a group rogue style game and played that way. You are NOT going to win. It's not a strategy rpg board game. Your goal should be to grind out books BEFORE you lose. Books are used to unlock classes, better gear, and POSITIVE events. Use everything you have to finish a dungeon or kill a chaos boss to get lore books. Tips Focus on books! Ignore the chaos meter. At lvl 3 towers will pop that you destroy to lower to 2. Make sure you have 1 toon with high STR, SPD, and INT to destroy towers. Do "easy" town quests. Make sure you have 1+ high physical DAM and 1+ magic DAM to bypass resists. Avoid Herbalist. Heal skill only works when using an herb. Prices escalate quickly. You NEED all money for gear, not herbs. Tinder pouch(camp) is your heal. Lasts many turns, just go back.
