Having the game of the year edition is going to be great, but a lot of the reviews you will see are from people who purchase the base game. The amount of predatory microtransactions have turned away a lot of the player base. The gameplay is simple but tricky, with the cars behaving just like an actual Hot Wheels car. The level creator and basement decorations are vast, but once again, microtransactions. There hasn't been any support for this game for months, so take it for what it is, but it is a very fun time waster. As one of those people who purchased the base game and was disappointed with the microtransactions. I am excited to have a new player base to play with when it comes to Game Pass.

Awesome!!
My son and I are having a lot of fun! Cars are sweet with plenty to choose from. Runs super smooth! Drifts better than most racers I've played! All for 10 bucks. Plays great on Xbox one and we haven't spent any extra money. Open new cars and tracks by winning races. Lots of extra things to do. Highly recommend!

Just playable.
Narrow scope of cars with a very nice paint system. Of note, ai difficulty just extends how much the ai is allowed to cheat. Higher top speed, faster boost regen, catch up mechanics and the like.

Beautiful, but hard for Hot Wheels
This is harder than most racers. It's like Cruisin' Blast on mega coke..I can't see a ton of youngbuls sticking with this because i mean it when i say It's hard. On level two of the Basement, and the race is close to impossible if you don't drive almost perfectly. The CPU rarely makes a mistake unless you ram them into an obstacle, and the drifting is too loose for the sharpness of the turns on the tracks. Cars themselves are excellent in design, could do with a few less cartoon ones though. The Penguin one in particular is well made..
