Infliction: Extended Cut

Infliction is a very scary game with a very clearly passionate developer. It's not a very uplifting, hopeful game (think the works of Clive Barker or Outlast), but it succeeds in creating a very oppressive, dreadful atmosphere that really works for the genre. It is very clearly heavily inspired by recognizable horror movies and games, which it makes no secret of, but this if anything feels like a tribute to them. It's impressive how much work went into small, optional details, like the many books and movie cases you can read. There are even multiple episodes of a live action cooking show made for the game. TLDR: Scary and slightly depressing, and it works. Like a love letter to horror, and well worth your time. I hope the developer isn't done with horror.

This game is so intense, I had to stop, collect myself and my mind, then continue. This game is so far my favorite. I am a female over 50 and after completing this amazing, extraordinary game, I'm still living. Love it. Please make more.

I'm not a big fan of horror games because they almost always fall short of providing any real scare. I only noticed this game whil scrolling through the deals of the week and after seeing a price of $5.99, I watched the trailer, then went to the reviews. While the reviews were mostly great the one thing that trully sold me was the fact that the developer took the time to respond to many of the comments. To take the time to go out of your way and respond to some of the comments is extremely rare and shows that they really care. After playing the game, I am not dissapointed. It is a scarey fun ride that I'm glad I took. My 15 yr old daughter loved every second.

Early on my streaming endeavor, I was a small streamer. Through a military nonprofit I used to review a lot of indie developed games, where I personally spoke to the developers or publishers. Among them are this game; Backbone, Chernobylite, Witch Hunt... several others. Blowfish gracefully gave me a shot as small streamer as I was then (nightmareactual1) I was streaming their game one night and enjoying the early copy. The developers and publishers actually stopped by the stream and hung out as I was enduring the scares and Seinfeld easter egg. It was pretty much one the best experiences with a dev and publisher that I have ever had. If these people ever gave me another shot at another one of their games, I'd be all over it. I'd back on streaming. Just do suppor their products. Amazing work.
