Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree
Knights Peak · Action & adventure · Role playing
An epic action RPG set in a dark fantasy world. Battle monsters, master six unique Classes, craft hundreds of useful items, and explore the secrets of an expansive, interconnected world.
Great Metroidvania with strong RPG character elements. Great production value too. The dev team also squashed the save bug inside of a week. If you like the genre, then you'll love this game.

A SLEEPING GIANT
Just happen to spot this game on a compilation of "must plays" and also saw that IGN only gave it 6 so I knew this was going to be an awesome game. What I didn't expect was a total banger! Like so many, I love Metriodvania and Soulslike games and Mandragora mixes it with style and class, totally exceeding my expectations. The AMAZING art style, game direction/storylines, gameplay and a insane depth of upgrades and abilities is top notch! All that I can recommend is if you love the aforementioned game styles you will most likely love this game. I'll be hoping for a sequel...and if Primal Game Studios can top this bad boy then take my money!

So good but...
This game is amazing, the hardest part is deciding which class to main on my first run. However i have tried to return to the title screen 2 times on 2 different charcters and got locked in an eternal load screen nthen when i try to load back in i find ive lost 10 levels on my character and several hours of progress. PLEASE fix devs this game is too good for this type of roadblock.
EDIT: The Save bug seems to be fully fixed. This game would deserve a 5/5 easily, but due to launching the way it did (in testing this glitch WOULD have come up) makes it lose a star.
But yeah, this game is the perfect mix of Castlevania Symphony of the Night and something like Dark Souls. Combat is tough but fair, learnable, you won't die 14 times to learn a pattern, and there's enough RPG stuff to make this really meat-y with secrets, loot, crafting, interesting NPCs, etc.
The opening works well with keeping things controlled at first, opening up to let you explore at your own pace in multiple pathways as the first act gets closer to ending. The boss of Act 1 is tough, too! But you can win a boss that you lost on without grinding, but a different approach and well-timed item use will get you the success.
The level tree is fun too! With Cross-classing at level 25. So much to do and I'm just at the end of Act 1 so far.
