The game is just alright. It doesn't particularly do anything great, but at the same time, doesn't do anything bad. Environments are beautiful, but empty. Character models look great for all the different races but the NPC's are stagnant and lifeless. The lore is rich and deep, but the story and characters are bland and boring. Combat is fun and snappy, but enemy scaling can make fights drag on. It's fun but be warned, it will filter people.

Fairly Average.
Avowed has a decent story that keeps you playing to get all the details, but overall it's just alright as a game. After a while the game just feels too samey. It lacks diversity in combat engagements and the itemization is pretty dry as well. I feel like it could have really had some fun things to find or craft, but never could commit to anything. Looting sort of feels like a chore after a while given how little "loot" there actually is. I think it's worth a play through, but don't expect to be really wowed, more of a time burner with a decent story. Left wanting more from this one.

Very solid Obsidian title.
I've been a fan of Obsidian since New Vegas and was pretty pumped to hear about Avowed. It goes some bad press and reviews early on so I dismissed it at first.
Saw it on game pass and subbed to play it. Turns out its really great. Not a masterpiece but a very good and fun basic RPG.
I was hooked very early but less so towards the end where I felt all my perceived agency I had in the game served no actual purpose. Still it was fun that they give you a wide variety of attitudes, political choices, etc to role play with even though they weren't actually meaningful.
Hope the studio does well and continues to release sick RPGs.

I was excited to try this game, however i found it pretty boring. The combat is lame, story was not captivating at all. Its slow paced and just feels like a free to play rpg.
