Neon Inferno

A worthy purchase if you're a fan of Contra or NeoGeo arcade run and gun shooters. Once you adjust to shooting in the background, which doesn't take long thanks to the tutorial, it's a quick learning curve. Controls felt on point to me. Enjoy the gameplay action. With the option to save and choose 3 different levels of difficulty lol if that helps purchase. There are some frustrating jumps while shooting. My only complaint is you have one life per continue. Seems like the difficulty spikes up by 3rd mission depending what mission you choose. Haven't tried co-op yet. Could use online co-op.

This game is a mix of Contra and NeoGeo games where you shoot stuff in the background but at the same time and it works really well. Love it!

Everything about this game screams high quality.My only gripe is the difficulty or Player HP could be tweeked a bit.YES even on NOVICE with the second BOSS phase it can be a bit annoying with no type of in-level power up .

I need to get back into soon. My backlog is why I haven't played more, nothing to do with this game being anything but stellar that I've played so far. A 2nd major patch came in today and it reminded me to get back to this, especially to try more with my arcade stick. This second major patch is like the 1st, a LOT of adjustments (QoL, balancing changes & adjustments, performance improvements, bug fixes, genenral adjustments & minor feature adds) plus it lets you now do a revive in co-op play, stab in opposite direction you when aiming into the BG, and a Score Attack mode has been added. Dev says another major patch to come in a couple months with possible minor patches before if needed. Not much needs to be said about this game. It plays like it looks, on foot & vehicle sections to play plus has story scenes to enjoy too. Beautiful arcade style action game that runs great.
