Project Wingman
Humble Games · Action & adventure · Racing & flying
Project Wingman is a combat flight action game with an emphasis on polished and refined gameplay, true-to-its-roots inspirations, and an engaging single player experience. Perfect for those who aren't looking for a simulator experience, with the ease of pick up and play, all the way to those who want a fast-paced challenging flight action game.
I just wanted to give it a try and ended up getting hooked, its unnecessary how hard this game goes. Wasn't expecting to like this so much. Wish it had DLC!

I love this game. However.....
I have played PW since launch on PC and its release on Xbox. I love the game, however I feel betrayed. There was a campaign released exclusively on another console and they haven't updated the version on Xbox in a very long time. There are still many game breaking bugs and glitches that need to be fixed. Unfortunately, I do believe they have abandoned us here on Xbox. Good game? Yes. Sad outcome of neglect? Also yes. I hope one day we are treated fairly and get what we deserve.

It's not easy, and that's a good thing
This game offers great features, especially for not being developed by a mainstream studio. The visuals are dazzling, the gameplay is tight, and the audio and voice work are great. I quite liked the story mode, though I think the missions could have had a touch more variety. The difficulty was generally fair and enemy AI is competent--they are a consistent threat, especially since there are no checkpoints.
My main complaint is a lack of good two-seat aircraft. Having a voiced character as your WSO is an awesome addition, but the last two boss fights are just not possible without high-tier single-seat planes, so it felt like I was missing out on some story. The game plays really well from the cockpit, but some of the textures sorta blink in a weird way, and some of the larger engagements can cause you framerate to drop. Conquest mode is a bit of a slog and the difficulty ramps a bit too steeply.
This was money well-spent, I recommend it for any fan of Ace Combat or flying in general.
