RAID: World War II

tldr: don't buy on console, the game was DOA. Raid is getting occasional official updates by fans on PC. It's consistently on sale for a few $ and it's much better off on the newer game engine on PC. Much better than Payday 3. 10/10/2017 (Absolutely not worth $40 rn) A Payday 2 clone in poor taste, intentionally made on a outdated verison of an odd game engine. There was never hope for this game. The few people who played played for its meme status, that's about it. Raid wasn't optimised for its target console, Xbox One, that's why it immediately flopped on console. Hell, Payday 2 eventually died on console because optimization couldn't be pushed far enough. Maaaaaaybe Raid works a bit better on Series S/X but why bother? Framerate is only one part of the pile of issues.

If you are looking for a spiritual successor to Pay Day, this is NOT it. There is an overall drop in quality in gameplay and objectives. Additionally, most of the heist complexity from PD2 is completely absent, so don't expect to pull a caper on the Nazis. This is almost exclusively point to point objectives, in some instances starting mid fire fight. Weapons can be customized with challenge unlocks...just don't expect to enjoy using them. There's no analog to the mask, that system is gone. Characters now have a handful of outfits, but it's a far cry from the character that masks had. There's no armor classes, but skill trees are back...just dumbed down a little with no option to mix and match. Some weapons are also locked to certain trees. This game might be worth $10, but definitely not $40. There's just not enough here to justify the cost.

I've started playing it and can't get past the tutorial because everytime you kill the guard at the beginning, you'll crash. I tried everything and still crashes. I recommend gamers do not buy this game, it's a copy of payday 2 plastered WW2 over it. and still the same principle as payday 2. there are issues that need to fixed and addressed pronto. I repeat this: DO NOT BUY!

I unfortunetly cant rate this a zero so a 1 will have to do. After multiple attempts and a hour of my time i still cannot get the game to launch.10/10 has arrived and has brought with it a 7 gig update and guess what it still doesnt work thanks starbreeze studios for producing another broken game.Still broken as of 10/22 so at this point still cant launch it and no option of getting my money back what a waste of money DO NOT BUY

The whole game is ugly and looks and feels unfinished. Between an unreliable AI and uninteresting level design as well as unsatisfying gameplay the whole game feels rushed and boring. If you havent already played it I recommend getting PAYDAY 2 instead
