RESEARCH and DESTROY

R&D is a solid game. The flavor is Scooby Doo meets Ghostbusters. The style is a fusion of Xcom and a FPS with simple cover mechanics. It can be hard to grasp the gameplay and strategy involved in building a successful team. If you don't pair your weapons with appropriate gadgets you'll have a rough time. Make sure to explore equipment options as you unlock them, and avoid upgrades until you've found a good fit. Keep the team together in maps until you are a pro, but even when you are don't stray too far for long. Build universities and defenses, but build only one to the 2nd and 3rd level. Once I used this method it was pretty fun and still challenging. Control could be better, but you get used to it. If you are willing to give it an honest try and learn from failing it's actually a decent experience overall. Not as bad as the crybabies claim.

I am not sure what these reviews are on about? The tutorial goes straight into the main game. This game is amazingly fun. Every weapon and each gadget are incredibly unique completely changing up the way you engage the enemies and the way you move around the map. Each enemy is also distinct; each takes a different strategy to take down. You often find yourself prioritizing which one to go after. I thought the difficulty was spot on, keeping you on your toes, but not crossing into frustrating. Lastly, each environment is unique, both in traversal, but also aesthetics. There is a lot of good stuff going on here. Really a great game. It took me 17 hours to defeat the final boss in case you were wondering about campaign time.

After a few key unlocks its cake. Lots of enemies that have to be approached differently. Haven't played something like this. 💥💥💥💥

These reviews need to chill tf out. The game is fine if you're a fan of valkyria chronicles. Its more simplistic than VC, but that doesn't mean its bad. You've gotta do the tutorial before coop which is a tad long, but afterwards you have free reign and won't have to do it again. Give it a chance if you're into TBS games. Guaranteed 90% of these reviews haven't seen later game weapons if all they think is walk and shoot lol

As far as turn based strategy games go it's pretty simple but its got a really fun gameplay loop and charming aesthetic. It's very important your team be well rounded, you 100% need the lazer rifle (Laserizer) for its accuracy, also I'm convinced all the negative (particularly the illiterate) reviewers here have never played a turned based strategy game in their life so ignore like 80% of them. This game is far from perfect but considering it came from a small developer it could be way way way worse, this ip has so much potential.
