Riptide GP: Renegade

this game is a very addicting game. tons of fun and brings back fond memories of the nintendo 64 classic, waverace 64. the original release was great but lacked much needed multiplayer and online features, both local and online. but now theyve added all of that plus customization and more open levels that open them up for multiple paths to race on, similar to the old arcade games like cruisin' world and the san Francisco rush series. the original was great but this one is fantastic and complete.

It's an alright game, just not a lot of depth to it. There are 9 tracks, and the single-player career has you playing through about 125 events which are just Race, Elimation, Slalom, and Freestyle on the same 9 tracks. The racing itself isn't that complex; it's no Splashdown -- you can't go underwater or anything. You just steer left and right and press buttons to do tricks off of jumps to earn boost. Not really that difficult either. It's fun if you want something to do while listening to podcasts or whatever, but don't expect it to challenge your skill or intelligence. I completed the game with 1000 gamerscore in 10 hours, if that's important to you.

smooth controls good arcade style racing game

Simple arcade style wave racing. Doing tricks to gain boost to win races makes it enjoyable. Graphics aren't spectacular, but didn't ruin my fun! Only ten courses, short easy campaign, and limited options or upgrades. Yet still worth playing.

This game reminds me of the Jet Moto series.
