Road Redemption

Its a good game.. Throw back to road rash. Its for sure worth a few bucks.. Its fun hopefully one day another road rash comes out.. Man im old.

Ive been playing road rash since sega genesis as well, and would agree the 3DO incarnation was king, until now. Road rash 3DO still has the best engine sounds. This game gives me the same tense rush. Well done.

Loved Road Rash growing up; this game is a great successor to the franchise, been booting it up every morning this past month to get my blood pumping. It's a simple racing game. Use blunt weapons to knock off helmets; decapitate racers with your sword for bonus health, nitro, and cash. Buy upgrades for your Rider in-between races. And the best part is you earn EXP after every race based off your kills, so when you get a Game Over, you can then spend the accumulated EXP on Perks that improve your overall Campaign forever, making every subsequent playthrough just a bit easier over time. It's a pretty great game overall. My only complaint is that:: There were a few instances when the game freezes at 98% or 99% during a loading screen; this seems to happen late in a playthrough when you have several upgrades and lots of cash, but at least when you quit and restart the game, you can restart where you left off. You lose all your upgrades, but you do retain your EXP for Perks. Not bad..

As a 44 year old RR2 fan, this is the bee's knees. You lose every upgrade and start over when you die but you get to spend your xp on permanent upgrades, new bikes and new riders in a skill tree making it possible to progress further with each new run. Handling is so close to Road Rash that it's shocking. My only regret is waiting to buy such a great homage to one of my favs.

I just had 8 friends buy this game on sale, just for us to not be able to play because thet servers are down. Don't advertise online multiplayer if there isn't any. Can't even do a private match. 1 star.
