Yars: Recharged
Atari · Action & adventure · Classics · Shooter
Shoot from afar or nibble up-close and personal in a boss-rush, bullet-dodging revival of the 1982 Atari classic title, Yars' Revenge. Take on 60 unique enemy encounters alone or with a friend in local co-op.
Yup...atari goodness in every part of yars revenge, if ya know, ya know...
1 star reviews are just people complaining about actually getting a real challenge,
Video games used to actually require practice to master them...and this installment of YARS has loads of challenges within each of the 60-plus levels, this game achieves a level of strategic depth that's rarely seen in modern gaming these days there's almost no limit to the creative and strategic ways to conquer each enemy formation, half the fun is studying the patterns to see what you can come up with in terms of strategy, YARS recharged is a prime example of what gaming should be about...

Played the 1982 game
If this game required tokens, it would take them. Its fun playing for 15-20 minutes; however, you'll come back tomorrow to play. Do not like, you have to be online to play. I feel that players who, not witnessed the Atari 2600 title would think this is some "put together game".

Fun arcade game
You are a tiny spaceship (technically a fly man) destroying big spaceships piece by piece. If that speaks to you, you'll probably enjoy Yar's Recharged. Your goal is to strip away the big spaceships' defenses so that you can blast it with your mega cannon. Each time you destroy one of the weapons a big chunk of the ship explodes, and it is very satisfying. The simple, yet stylish art style is also a plus!
My only complaint is that you can't fight any boss individually, only the arcade gauntlet. This isn't a big deal, though, and I do enjoy the arcade vibes.
Now, if only we could get 2011 anime girl Yar's Revenge back, too...
