Age of Wonders: Planetfall Premium Edition

It's basically a Civ style 4X game that resolves combat like a table-top war game, which you can manually control or auto-resolve (and retry if you lose). Great game if you can get it for around $30 on sale. I've played tons of 4X games, but none of the AoW series, so I have no preconceived notions about how it "should" play and just take it for what it is. The game is slow but fun. The user interface definitely plays better with a mouse than a controller, but you take what you can get. There is a STEEP learning curve, but my only major complaint is that you can't increase the font size. The UI was designed for PCs, where you sit 2-3 feet from a hi-rez monitor. That does not transition very well to console use where you sit around 8 feet or so from a 1080p television screen. There is a wealth of helpful YT videos to teach you the ins and outs of the game. Just continue to research and update the mods for your troops and even your starting units can remain end-game viable.

Fun so far... But did anyone else not receive the Jack Gelder avatar costume yet?? Never got mine...
