Don't let the term "arcade" fool you, this game still requires a lot of skill and patience if you plan to play on the hard setting, but if you enjoy racing games and don't mind a lot of counter-steering, this game is for you! I was hesitant to bite at the $30 price but the HD upgrade looks nice on my 4k TV and there are lots of tracks and vehicle types, so I'm happy with the purchase. As with any racing game, it all boils down to the core gameplay and the driving mechanics in this game are fun in a challenging/rewarding kind of way.

This game is awesome for an older title. Vehicle handling is great, available upgrades and fine-tune, the collisions can be brutal, has pretty good music. Theres alot of tracks and modes and for co-op as well including free roam 😎😍

Gameplay holds up remarkably well and HD boosts new life into this classic. Every race is a thrill ride where you literally are on the edge of control. Simcade handling is well balanced for this bumpy ride and the damage model actually has consequences for punishing your ride on these long rallies. AI offers a good challenge while not too formulaic. Wish update would have added replays and rewind. Deductions. Sad to see biggest complaint of original - the annoying 'you left track' message - is still too frequent. It's a Baja game so roads are optional. Could have at least given a toggle to disable. Clipping bugs mess up half the bonnet views and the second chase cam (closer view) is at a three quarter angle instead of straight so take that into consideration if you don't care for bumper or far chase views.
