Exactly what I expected
This is not a difficult game, just don't expect a strike every time. I purchased this game because it was the cheapest of the 3 for $14.99. Great fun! For me, this game is highly addictive. I've posted a few videos on my Twitch channel if you want to check it out. Great graphics in my opinion. Don't listen to the pay to play reviews. First off, you can earn tickets and gold pins to purchase everything this game has to offer. As fast as games can be completed, you will have plenty of tickets before you know it. Second, you do not need to own every bowling ball, I own 28 of 134. You will have favorites, and my favorite is the Venom Panic. Throwing Brooklyn gives the most strikes in my opinion. As far as leveling up goes I was a level 84 after only 16 days. As of 2/13/23 I have now placed first in each of the 115 tournaments, and I finished at a level 134. In addition, I have bowled 10 perfect games during my quest that started 12/30/22.

At its core, this is a solid bowling game...
TL;DR- excellent bowling game hurt by limited online multiplayer & predatory microtransaction approach Anyone looking for a solid bowling game will find it in this game. Graphics are top notch, gameplay is easy to pick up but hard to master. Solo career has plenty of events to play through. This game isnt without its shortcomings though. Online tournaments are simple timed leaderboard events with no real interaction between players, which isnt exactly a bad thing. However it does desperately need an actual online versus multiplayer, so friends & family can compete online. Lastly, slow character level progression and in game currency accumulation are the backbone of predatory real world currency microtransactions. Yes, you can technically earn items without spending real money. Be ready to work for the good balls, and most importantly choose wisely when spending the tickets/golden pins you have earned.

In-game economy will kill this game if not changed.
If 1 huge issue isn't fixed soon, this will end up as another solid game that ends up being trashed b/c of its in-game economy. I've been playing a lot yet I'm only lvl 17. On top of that, I STILL can't buy a decent ball b/c the cost is too high. If I unlock a ball, it shouldn't cost 90K-100K in tix when I'm at lvl 17 & barely have 30K tix. And that's after buying just 2 basic balls total. TWO. Career mode tournaments (so far) pay out approx. 1K in tix - if you WIN. But a lvl 17 ball can cost 100K in tix. Sounds about right, doesn't it? After paying $20, when a ball is unlocked, it should be FREE b/c I EARNED it. Tickets should be used for event entry fees only. Gold pins are fine if someone wants to buy a ball early but the current in-game economy is going to ruin a really good game if it's not changed soon. I hope the devs see this - I already don't want to play since I'll need to be lvl 100 to afford a lvl 17 ball. Just dumb!

MINOR CHANGES FROM LAST VERSION
I am a big fan of the 2019 version because of it's simplicity, and this game pretty much follows suit. Still no player creation, in this one you choose which pro bowler you want to be. A negative for me is that you now have to look through the silhouette of your player while trying to set your mark where you want to throw from. Unlike the first game, I find that I have to constantly change the spot I am throwing from in each game. One minute I'm throwing strikes, and the next minute I can't throw a strike from the same spot for the life of me. I've also noticed the speed at which you throw the ball plays a big factor in this game. While my rating for this game went from a 5 star to a 3 star for this version, this would still be your better choice over the 23 version. I play these bowling games a lot, be sure to read my review for PBA 23.

Awesome Game!
I've played "PBA Bowling Challenge" on my smartphone for quite awhile, so I finely decided to buy the Xbox One version and it is well worth the money. It's generally the same thing as on Android, the controls are easy to use ,but throwing/hooking the ball is kind of tricky and it is harder then it looks. The graphics are very realistic-looking and just have fun playing the game!
