DEATHLOOP Deluxe Edition

Way better than expected, and the gameplay and artwork remind me of Dishonored, which I've been wanting more of from Arkane. This game sounded repetitive and boring at first blush - being stuck in a loop trying to kill the same characters. But it's wayyyy more than that.

This game has excellent progression, a unique story mechanic, and puzzles that engage you. The shooting is immaculate, the number of tools available in your arsenal lead to full freedom in how you play, and the story has enough twists and turns to keep you guessing, making each new discovery enjoyable. For the multiplayer, however... you can throw all that out. I won't spoil the story elements around it, especially because it is a fascinating concept, but mechanically, it's pretty rough. One player is at the mercy of the other player's internet, and that makes for an accidentally asymetrical multiplayer experience filled with rubber-banding, inconsistent hitboxes, and crashes when even the game doesn't know how a fight ended. It's really an interesting concept, just not one that plays well in practice. If you play in single player mode only, you will undoubtably have a good time.

This runs solid 60 fps and looks very very good on my series S... If this is what we will get once old gen is dropped then i dont even feel the need too upgrade anytime soon, great optimization

Good guns. Deep puzzle solving. The whole game is a puzzle. As someone else said I wish I could play it again for the first time.

Series X digital verison freezing and crashing regularly. Game seems great but with the premise being run a level and save loot at the end, crashing resulting in restarting the level is the true Deathloop. The issue has left me in progress purgatory. Its ironic given the game itself.
