DIRT 5 Year One Edition

I'm an old-school CMR fan. After going through nearly everything this entry has to offer, I can't honestly recommend it to anyone. DiRT 1 was about introducing & showcasing various offroad styles (hillclimbing, trophy tucks, rally raid, etc.) whilst still having a focus on good old-fashioned point-to-point rallying. These days, it's basically Rallycross with inappropriate vehichle types & Gymkhana... which has far more in common with stunt driving than anything REMOTELY connected to truly disciplined offroad racing. If people weren't as quick to spend money on creatively bankrupt companies that put in minimal effort (outside of predatory cash-grabbing), we wouldn't have to deal with the seemingly endless "lowest common denominator" games that have been everywhere since 10 or 12 years ago. SOME fun can be had, but that's only because it's on Game Pass for the princely sum of $15/month. There are better titles on the market that are far more deserving of your time.

Going back to older games

Arcade racer through and through. No clutch control. Just buy Forza Horizon 5.

Worst possible followup to dirt4. At least 4 felt realistic. There is zero attention to physics and feel. Such a waste of time to make a racing game look good. At 145mph i couldnt care less about how the trees and sky look.
