Genesis Alpha One Deluxe Edition
Team17 · Shooter
Hyperjump into the dark recesses of space with Genesis Alpha One Deluxe Edition - where you must build, maintain and navigate your ship through a galaxy filled with hostile alien and human threats. Explore, create and survive the militarized space race in order to secure humanity’s future.
My best expeience so far in this wonderful game was when I was just casually mining a new asteroid and brought the ore on board. The ore spiralled into a sickness spreading wildly through my crew and stealthily growing alien biomass throut my ship. By the time I realized what was wrong, the crew was immune but the ship was infested beyond saving. I lost everything and barely clawed my way back from the brink alone against hundreds of still reproducing xenos. The victory and satisfaction of regaining the ship as a lone captain was immense. I now quarantine everything that interacts with the outside of the ship behind two acid spreading security doors and personally monittor anything/anyone going through them.

I've had this since release and have seen it evolve through its updates. I don't rate much, I review less. Do yourself a favor and buy this twice, once for yourself and again to support the dev. The only thing that could really improve on this would be coop.

Loved the ship building
I enjoyed the game. The machanics in the game fit the enviroment pefectly, would of loved couch or online multiplayer. Great wepon and enemy diversity, completed my genesis the secould time. Its a ship(base builder) with small rpg machanics. Would love more interaction with the crew, maybe place some planet rescue's were permanent characters found can fill ship roles & be interacted with.

Ship building and exploration
If you want a well-polished game, this isn't for you. If you want a game that plays like a space-survival sim and can ignore a modest amount of jank, you'll love this. After "beating" a run, you can continue to find upgrades or populate more planets.
Action is a bit secondary to the detailed ship building. You'll set up defenses against threats, manage the atmosphere to suit the crew and have to do mantainence in crawl spaces. Any resource you bring on the ship can have a disease or organism stowed away. Creatures can infest areas of the ship, expecially crawl spaces, and need to be managed regularly.
You explore space and basically want to discover a planet to populate. There's no one "goal" planet. Resources and upgrades are randomized for each run. You can get attacked or have your ship destroyed if you don't watch the radar as you travel.
The gunplay is simple, usually lock on and shoot. Weapons have damage types and limited ammo, so managing them efficiently is important.
