GRIS + Arise A Simple Story Bundle

Ive kept my eye on this game for a while until i finally got it on sale today. I now realise that this game is COMPLETELY worth its normal price. (My wait paid off only because of my brand new 65" LG OLED TV). Visually its absolutely breathtaking!! 😍✨💖 A LOT of heart and soul went into this so-called indie game. Im on level 9, and so far the creative team behind this have proven their metal 10 times over! This game is unlike anything ive played. Its beautiful story finds me nostalgiacly struck somewhere between Bugdom and Ori-Will of the Wisps but bending time was amazingly novel. This game is so tender and lovely that my wife played co-op with me FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN 5 YEARS!!! We laughed and as she repeatedly killed me trying to control time and we cried as the simple but deeply rich story unfolded. The full experience of this game is comparable to someones first time going to Disney World. Buy this game at any price so they make a sequel!! 😁👍👌

I wanted to enjoy this game, but I didn't, at all. It was clearly made with love and care, but I would only recommend this to someone playing with their spouse. The main difficulty is how tedious it is after the novelty of the time mechanic wears off. Limited camera also skews perspective making it awkward to gauge distance. I did finish, and didn't find the story to redeem the game from its setbacks. But I understand that some may love it.

Im glad games like this continue to be made with such care, emotion and scenery. It really is a breath of fresh air to step away from the grind of live service games...The fact there is no dialogue and just pure imagery and symbolism for the player to interpret is incredibly powerful. It really is a simple story of joy, sadness, love, tragedy, perseverance and hope. I'd love to play this again for the first time if possible. It felt like when Disney used to make great movies with some of the levels

Great puzzles, really fun mechanic that evolves through the levels. Simply stunning scenes that were a pure joy to traverse through. The story is a bit sad and involves a miscarriage, but those scenes were done with a lot of sensitivity. It really felt like an exsistential review of a life - sweet, sad, beautiful, hard, courageous, and centered on sustaining the love of his life. 🥰

With a simple story every now and then that doesn't ivolve either the fate of the world or being the best.
