Halo Wars: Definitive Edition

Crazy how good it still is

I have been playing Halo Wars since 2009 when it released. That being said Halo Wars DE looks amazing. The 1080p and 60fps look and feel amazing. Not only that but about 99% of all the special effects have been updated to look epic! Theres even updated texures on most of the units. I really like the skirmish browser as well. However, as of now there is no ranks or competitive matchmaking. Unfortunately the devs said the skirmish browser replaces the matchmaking from the first game. Overall, I am really enjoying the game!

with a campaign that does more to respect the Bungie era of Halo than all of 343's games. Here is a game that stands proudly next to the originals, and shows how the original concept for the franchise works just as well as its FPS counterparts. A must play, and an introduction to a genre normally too overwhelming for many. Here you'll find a fun experience that makes basic, casual, gameplay just as fun as high skill gameplay...and they made Blood Gulch a multiplayer map.

As someone with over 3000 hours logged into the first Halo wars, this edition thoroughly satisfied me. You can immediately tell the difference by how smooth and crisp the game runs now. My only complaint is that all pre-existing data from the original edition does not carry over. Gameplay wise, This is still very much the halo wars we grew up with, except better. Special shout out to the original dev team, and to the ones who remade this. Fantastic! 10/10

I played the original Halo Wars back on the X box 360 when it first released and fell in love with the game. So when I heard that Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition was coming with Halo Wars Definitive Edition I had to get it. I have to say Halo Wars DE is still the same awesome experience Halo Wars fans and RTS fans remember. The soundtrack is excellent, the characters are all interesting, the campaign and overall story is good and the gameplay is good. The big differences between Halo Wars on the X box 360 to Halo Wars Definitive Edition on the X box One is that in game models of units, buildings etc look more sharp and better, the cutscenes and in game gameplay plays out much more smoothly at 1080p60fps which is awesome and truly lets the game shine. It comes with all the original dlc and loads of achievements that'll keep players busy from collecting all the black ONI boxes to collecting all the skulls. Still a great game and was worth every cent of my purchase.
