About 6hrs in and it's an amazing game! The art work and graphics are beautiful. The gameplay is smooth and the story is good. They put a lot of love into this game and it shows! Props to the developers. Will update after completion of this master piece! (update) Finished the game. Had a really great time with my play through. It is a 5 star review for me. Had no problems or glitches. Plays smooth a quality game.

Love it so far. Have to problems with glitchs thats a plus. Love the story and characters. Will update when i finish the game. UPDATE... Game was cool. 1 thing I didn't like there was no fast travel and 1 level the one with lava half the level gets destroyed so you won't be able to go back in if u forget a collectable. Would advise to get a guide before playing the game to save u time and stress. Made that mistake...now have to do another playthrough. Other then that recommend people to give it a chance if this is your kinda game.

Itorah is a game that has Metroidvania upgrades but you aren't revisitng previous areas like you would in a Metroidvania. There is 20 items(2 upgrade items X quantity 10) and if you visit every fork in the map, you will not miss them on first run, and you don't really need all to easily beat the game. There is really no reason to revisit old areas, so it masquerades as a Metroidvaina but isn't. It's GORGEOUS and has good (occasionally buggy) sound. It's short, with a paper thin story, mostly easy(except the last boss.) The platforming/jumping isn't quite what I would like it to be. It took me 6.5 hours to beat, another 3.5 for the speedrun achievement and about another 3-4 hours to get the "all upgrades" achievement since XP is hard to come by, so about 14 hours for me to 100%. It's a pretty good entry into the platform genre, so if that is your genre, it's not a bad way to spend a few hours.

This is an absolutely gorgeous hand crafted Metroidvania style game that desperately needs the jump mechanics tightened to make it a 5 star representation of the genre.

The art and animation are top-notch. Literally one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. The controls need to be a bit tighter, but you won't notice for how great everything else is. Ignore the 1✨loser and give it a shot. A steal at twice the price.
