Metal Slug Tactics

I'm a janitor. No one is paying me for this review. I am old enough to have played the first Metal Slug on arcade at a roller rink. Played the sequels as well. They did a great job with look and vibe. They even manged to get the run and gun nature of the og in there with a mechanic that buffs defense the further you move. Aka its hard to hit a fast moveing object. Not as hard or complex as xcom, but it has enough cool mechanics to keep things interesting. Like free synchronized attacks based on you and your party members location when attacking n stuff. Runs fine so far on my X series. No bugs or crashes. Im really liking it. If you like Metal Slug and you want a casual Xcom experience in that world, you will like. Oh, and its on game pass. Why the hate? Idk, guess no one told em.

Fun spin on the series. Very tough, but fair. Roguelike elements are lacking and could've been fleshed out a bit

I think this is a good tactics game. Its not easy, and it doesnt hold your hand after the intro.

Definately a different breed from it's Original 2D formula; they take special abilities of the few side scrollers where Marco has better pistol damage, Eri is a one woman artillery piece with grenades, etc.

(UPDATE: The latest patch fixed the game. It runs fine now. The information below is no longer true but is preserved for posterity.) There is a bug in Scirocco City. I am trying to stop a convoy. On the third turn, after an enemy in a ghillie suit makes his move, the game crashes. This happens consistently.
