Pretty good turn based game but.... 2 Things that make this game rough. If your soldiers die later game goodluck building up any new units without them being constantly K.Oed. The other thing is the game makes close to death enemies have a crazy dodge stat it seems.

The Miniatures table top game from 1999
This is a Skirmish style game BASED on the tabletop miniatures game, Mordhiem. You take turns based on initiatives of individual units in your Warband. There are campaign missions as well as story driven 'Faction specific' missions. Like the real version, this game can be unforgiving at times. You can and will lose life and limb! It has agood learning curve to it, and good tutorials to help you understand the game. If you stick with the game, it'll finally make sense and you'll see just how deep the game really is. Hundreds of hours worth of gameplay. I recommend getting all DLC if you decide to buy as it adds 2 newer Warbands and some free in game warriors that once leveled up are awesome. You Tube has lots of good reviews and play throughs of this game. I highly recommend you look at some reviews if the game sounds interesting to you. It's already at a fairly low price and often goes on sale. The game isn't perfect, but its still a great strategic move/battle/objectives game!

Could have been great
I am still trying to like this game but I fear that without a major working of the mechanics there is little chance that I will be playing it again. The thing that bothers me most is that every scenario dictates your planning for the upcoming fight. For example, many scenarios inform you that you split your team into small strike groups to prevent the other team from achieving some objective. Unfortunately, the AI never seems to have any obective other than to concentrate its forces and engage your troops as soon as possible. This is a reasonable tactic, in fact it is how I tend to win most scenarios, but it creates a highly accident prone scenario environment.
"What? Your leader and best hero spawned in the middle of the entire enemy force with no help in sight? I am sure they will be fine. What's that? They were taken out and robbed before any of your other forces even got close? Well, they will probably returrn unharmed after the battle. Oh, they both died? Sorry.

Potenially Great game that ruins itsef.
I have the biggest hate/love relationship turn-based tactics and Mordheim just brings the reason home hard. That is that the devs seem more interested in making the game screw you over than making sure the game is finished and/or actually works. The game has a great concept & good gameplay and party management...which is immediately ruined with crappy random seed generation, game-ruining glitches, and irritating mechanics. The TUTORIAL took hours just because i missed 80% of my +70% chance attacks. There is also the issue of undroppable and unswappable(glitch) items which is a primary mechanics in the game. One of first story missions is a take multiple items from one side of the map to the otherside of the map littered with barricades. Already a frustrating mission, it can quickly become impossible if u pick up anything else aside from mission items. Good game concept. Terrible implementation.

Booooooo
Great idea with valid complaints in the other reviews. But I want to complain about the down time. Between ridiculous load times and waiting for unseen enemies to complete animations, it takes more than an hour to complete a single mission. And several missions for a single level. This game mostly consists of waiting
