Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition

This games takes a lot of trial and error for it to click, but once it does it can be really fun

1st hour: "Wtf is this?" 2nd hour: "Interesting!" 3rd & 4th hours: "Whoa, pretty awesome!" This game takes some getting used to. Exploration is good, and combat is very good. Enemy variety isn't crazy, but its decent! Have enjoyed! Final boss has tainted the game. Can't beat it w current weapon. You are as likey to die from a wave of water as you are the actual boss. No joke.

Grab solomon+hammer and chisel with the renown upgrade and the game will practically play itself

This is gonna sound corny but this game saved me. I hope the people who made this make more.

The beginning is kinda bad. Like DS you're given a brief tutorial on the controls. But after that the game just throws everything at you once. Items have to be used once to know what they do so you'll lose a lot of consumables early. The swamp area is so confusing to explore that no joke I ran into a boss that I wasn't supposed to fight and ended up beating it on my second try. The resolve meter is not properly explained and you won't know what it does until you find the item that uses it. The early experience is unfriendly to new players but once you're able to find a foothold the game becomes a much more enjoyable game. The combat while a little slow compared to ds is satisfying. Magic is replaced with weapon abilities and also use the resolve meteras as well. And they can be pretty fun to use. Overall I had a good experience with mortal shell and believe it stands out as a enjoyable souls lite. Also the Axatana is pretty awesome.
