Newfound Courage

I'm not going to pretend this game had much going on. The gameplay in part 1 is ok, even with a whopping 3 enemy types. The story is nice, though it feels rushed quite often. Nothing to write home about, but a decent game. Then I got to part 2. Then I got to the carnival. Unskippable, uninteresting, unsatisfying Button-Mashing sequences... I'm not joking when I say the carnival is several minutes of watching 8-bit boxes spin and bob about as your character shrieks his heart out. It completely ruined my vibe as I watched poor little Alex lose his mind because I can't press the A button 30 times a second.

Super fun, love the graphics, need another game like it.

My true rating would be a 3.5 but I couldn't bring myself to round to 4. + Really interesting setting and lore + Fun, if simple combat. - Most of the relationships (romantic, familial, and platonic) are pretty grating and unbelievable to me, especially in Book 2. However, some are endearing. • Story is decent but unsatisfying at times. Again, especially so in Book 2 (sorry). All this being said, I think its worth the handful of hours it takes to experience it. Curious to see what the dev team creates next.

I'm happy the main characters aren't stereotypes. Gives me hope for gay characters in future games.

I absolutely adored the game! The story I definitely feel was a little rushed at certain points, but I loved it nonetheless! In addition, the lgbtq+ themes were handled very well throughout the story and the game as a whole helps shed light on serious topics such as past trauma, bullying, finding oneself, etc... I do feel like the combat in the game could be more varied however, the absence of advanced combat mechanics does not affect the quality of the game. The storline of the game is unique and refreshing. It s a wonderful story that is able to tug at the heartstrings of the player with ease. The game was worth every penny and I would highly recommended this adorable game to a multitude of people.
