Nexomon

Had an excellent time with the game through ~30hrs. Creature designs and battle mechanics, progress, art all great. Story pretty good, surprisingly funny at times. Beware of quick resume. I lost ~3hrs of progress at one point early on, and I think it had to do with quick resume. After that, I always saved, returned to main menu of Nexomon, then closed the game from the quick resume list. Never had another problem. Very glad I gave it another chance after the lost progress. Highly recommend.

So many developers have gotten hung up on AAA graphics, big open world games (usually so big it appears empty or unbearable to fully 100% explore), or they take their storys way too seriously. This is just pure gaming where you can relax and battle Nexomon across multiple regions of map each region usually two maybe three to four screens in length between each town/city. Its like an old school Pokemon with a story thats not affraid to take jabs at itself. If you enjoyed gaming in the 90's you'll enjoy this title.

Story is brilliant. Some of the Nexomom look even better than some Pokemon. Love the battles too.

It's very funny, vibrant, and fun, however it lacks a bit of mechanical challenge. Very similar to Pokemon, but no unique or learnable moves. You also cannot switch out your monster after defeating another; the opponent will get a free attack. This means that your first two monsters will likely KO. This will affect xp gain, and potentially put your favorite monster behind. This game definitely has some length as well as post-game adventures, but it drops off a bit. Many of the monsters are too... Cute. They are supposed to be inherently evil, but they sure don't look like they are. Overall a great and funny game, but it lacks some depth that Pokemon had. You won't get that feeling "hell yeah, i have a CHARIZARD", because most of the monsters feel rather insignificant. I had no desire to catch them all, because there are too many similar attacks and aesthetics.

Like I said, it is a great Pokémon clone. It's not exactly like it, but it's very similar. And the Pokémon are actually pretty cool. I mean nexomon 90s babys will love this if you're trying 2 fill the Pokemon void Dont listen 2 one star reviews they probably think cod is the ultimate game lol
