Obduction
Cyan, Inc. · Action & adventure · Puzzle & trivia
A new sci-fi adventure from Cyan, the creators of Myst. Abducted far across the universe, you find yourself on a broken alien landscape with odd pieces of Earth. Explore, uncover, solve, and find a way to make it home.
If you loved Myst, or Riven you will like Obduction the XB1 version runs smooth not having the PC issues when it launched 3 years ago. The only issuse I had was reading letters , books, clues from a distance when playing on console version there should be a zoom feature always for these type of games when converted from PC version, for some reason developers never consider that feature when their developing their games. Other then that issue Obduction is a beautifully created puzzel adventure game even with the graphics being 3 years old. If you are unsure if Obduction is your type of game watch the YouTube reviews, and gameplay to help in your decision before buying. Obduction is challenging, has back tracking to solve puzzels, and you can get lost in it's large world. Obduction doesn't hold your hand and it will frustrate you at times, but it captures the fun of Myst , and Riven and improves upon it with its beautiful environments to explore and challenging puzzels to solve.

Bug made me not able to continue ever.
Me and my dad had gotten this game because we had enjoyed the game myst and we had solved most of the puzzles, when we made it to the last tree we needed to turn on we remembered that we had turned off the water way earlier on and thats why the trees weren't activating, we tried to go back to the last tree but every door was closed with no way open them. Overall just a very stupid glitch that shouldn't be in a game that costs 30$. Also a few other people ran into this problem and asked if there was anything to do and there was nothing but to restart and go through hours of work again.

Be careful WHERE you get out of laser cart!
I was enjoying the mind bending puzzle solving....figured out a lot of things and was having a good time until I got out of the laser cart beside this gated shed and character got stuck between the cart and the shed. Gate on cart won't reopen. No matter button combo would fix, I couldn't move anywhere and I'll be damned if I reloaded the game, and it started me right back in same stuck position...Now I'm pissed, not starting this ALL OVER after everything I had accomplished.....uninstalled.....screw it....shame really

Riven For A New Age
MYST is one of the first games I ever played, and I've always had a great deal of fascination for it. I tried getting into Obduction on PC last year, but just couldn't. Now that it's on my platform of choice, I've been able to progress through its context puzzles and gorgeous worlds.
If you don't know MYST, think The Witness, but with a much better variety of puzzles and worldbuilding. There's a greatly appreciated run toggle often missing from these kinds of 'walking simulators,' so that's a good plus. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because of just some peculiar issues. Draw distance is spotty, framerate feels stuttery, takes a while to pause the game, odd and annoying load times even in each 'dome...'
It's a perfectly-crafted adventure, like MYST and Riven before it, but a patch would be welcome, or failing that, it should run much better on next-gen consoles, patched or not. Played on XBox One X.

Not tuned for controller input
Too much teleporting and loading. Controller input needs tuning too much fine movement designed for a mouse. Lots of repetition reusing areas. Good scenery and voice acting
