Perception

good game. however as of right now i am unable to complete due to most of the house failing to load in chapter 4. UPDATE: Waited over a month and nothing has been done to fix the bugs. fairly certain the last chapter isnt supposed to have doors not connected to room, radiators, chandeliers, or a modern day tape recorder. UPDATE: Bug was finally fixed and i was able to complete the game. gameplay isnt great but the concept and story were well done, lots of creative ideas. would recommend.

Essentially, Perception is a walking simulator with horror elements. Is it good at what it does? For the most part, yes. It has great voice acting and sound effects. The music, when it's there, is decent. The story is good, but occasionally starts to get dull. STARTS, but thankfully it never really does. This is because right when you begin to lose interest at some points, something either surprising or crazy happens that keeps the game interesting. My criticisms are that the main enemy, The Presence, isn't a real threat at any point in this 2-3 hour game (game length is a criticism too), there were times (even when pressing LT to show you where to go) where I struggled to navigate to the next area. Also, in chapter 4, sometimes the house doesn't load completely, causing you to fall through the map in some spots. The pros mostly outweigh the cons, and the $22.99 pricetag is just BARELY acceptable for what you get. Overall, it's a good game with an original mechanic, and I recommend it.

love this game beginning to end. Great narrative and kept me on the edge of my seat. Highly reccomended!
