Starpoint Gemini Warlords

So I have never heard of Starpoint Gemini Warlords until last week. I saw it was on sale and figured I would give it a shot. I did a quick search on info on the game. First thing I was a comment "Play the campaign it will help understand what to do." So I did just that and right away got Rebel Galaxy or Mount and Blade in space vibes. There were a few times I would be given an objective and I wouldn't be sure what to do. The game definitely does not hold your hand but you start to pick it up. When you do in my opinion it becomes one of the best space battle/conquest games on console. Sorry Stellaris but you were very time consuming to learn so I eventually quit. If you want detailed but not to complex space game where you can carve your own story Warlords is the game for you. Still looks great and runs great in 2023. Can't speak on the bad reviews about bugs or issues but I have had zero to date. Definitely a game I can suggest to anyone looking for a new space experience.

Start with the campaign. That will teach you the ropes. Basically, you start with a small ship and upgrade, buy, or steal until you have big ship. Build a massive fleet. Have more massive space battles. Conquer the galaxy one sector at a time. Build Alliances or wage war? Complete player freedom. Be bad, be good, who cares? SIMPLE resource management. This is game is as chill or intense as you want it to be. Even my cat likes it.

I have waited for this game for a while,it is great but the view on the carrier class is horrible you can't really see what you are aiming at or trying to scan.The game almost constantly freezes or crashes and most freezes require a reset and sometimes a hard reset to even play again.Massive frame drops close to fleets and station's cause alot of problems as well.Fix these serious issues and the game will be amazing and definitely my vote for game of the year update the patch at least for me fixed only 1 issue and that was the facility mining,gas,material stations upgrades now work properly,however the carrier bug is still there and everytime I try to save the game locks up my console.As of now game is unplayable for anything above a battleship,and dont bother trying 2 take over other areas cause after battle you get a freeze even with auto save disabled.[UPDATE ]After the newest update all my saves load no problem no freezes after 5 hrs of gaming thanks guys

This game has a lot of potential. The game is a bit of a grind to work your way into a position where you have the power to complete early misssions, but that would be OK if you could actually make progress. However, the game locks up A LOT. Most frustrating is that it often locks up during saves so you cannnot make progress at all. This should not be happening on a console where there are no strange grapics cards or other unpredictale factors. Until this is fixed the game is all but unplayable.

I want to congratulate the team who put this thing together. I gave you guys a lot of crap on steam about SG2. But a lot of the ideas the community gave have been implemented, from origin perks, campaign character customization, and of course the 4x4 strategy. While there is stutter issues the fact you all worked with the community has earned my respect and five star rating. I implore those who seek to conquer the stars to support these guys. There are minor issues and flaws. Yet there is so much potential with the new features I can overlook them. Such as perks opening different conversation options and even some events. All in all I wish this game much success.
