Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical

The music, the myths, the mystery?????? It's all phenomenal. I have replayed this several times and am still finding new songs and dialogue. Would rec to anyone who loves a good story and tough choices, or just anyone who has ever felt...adrift.

This game was initaly a curiosity buy for me im someone who loves choice themed games like Harmony:Fall of revorie and coming off that this game grabbed me by the throat and wouldn't let me go until the credits rolled on my FIRST ending it mixed choice with an honestly (if you choose it) Rockin soundtrack all in all it was a surprisingly great game and a good (in my eyes atleast) protagonist

If you've ever enjoyed a choose-your-own-adventure, this game might be for you. If you dig varied, catchy, and compelling music, this game might be for you. If you are a fan of Greek and Roman mythology; if you'd like to romance a god; if you crave a game where choices matter, outcomes noticably vary, and there are seemingly countless variations to uncover... This game might be for you. If ANY 2 or more of those are true, you owe it to yourself to experience this at least once. I'm confident it will surprise you in the best way. With incredible branching songs from peerless composers, to moving performances by talented musicians, and with a vibrant cast who nail every line; if you finish this game having felt nothing, please seek counseling for your wounded soul. My singular complaint is with inconsistent audio mixing during dialogue; some lines are delivered at standard volume, and the next almost startlingly loud. Even so, a clear 5 star journey, well worth the price of admission.

An emotional and unique story which deftly blends mystery, music, and Greek myth. Your choices don't just determine your journey, but also the score and lyrics. The narrative, characters, and songwriting weave a tale that's at turns enchanting, heartfelt, and devastating. The art and world are evocative of the Wicked/Divine, Fables, and The Sandman comics, but present unexpected takes on these classic gods. The incredible vocals by a stellar cast, led by Laura Bailey, left me wanting to spend more time with this endearing and flawed pantheon. This is a singular achievement in gaming as a medium, but also one helluva story. 10/10.

This game is more like a movie in its entirety, but I'm not one to complain about that. The songs are gorgeous, and it moves much like a book would, just with 3d environments. It pulls off a captivating story, and even if I'm a bit nitpicky about greek mythology being modernized, it executed it well and I'll give it that. It presents you with tough choices, cute characters, and interesting dialogue, and it's worth your time. ✨
