The Big Con

i found this game to be a fun, 4 to 5 hour experience, it wont change your life or become your new favorite game but its simple and has witty jokes that actually made me laugh out loud, the characters are fun and the story is decent, however the pickpocketing is repetitive and it feels about the same the whole time, overall im a simple guy and this simple game was fun

Captures a ‘90s pop culture look, while also being unique with original tracks. Likable lead character, good attempts at humor, and decent story. However, it’s very limited. There is one gameplay mechanic, picking pockets, and it gets instantly worn out. Just a simpled timed event, never picking up nuance as the game progressed. I wish I felt more engaged, that there was a sense of danger or difficulty. For example, a chase sequence or stealth component. As is, you’re just going to be playing the same mini game for 5 or so hours while reading text, provided you don't go into the options to make picking fully automatic.

Story is cute in an unconventional hero kind of way. I mean, you are playing as a thief with a good cause. pick-pocketing does feel repetitive towards the end of the game, but running around and finding little throwbacks to old films or things from the 90's did add to the gameplay.

It's not going to win any awards for its mechanics necessarily but the art and writing is so clever and cute that I love it despite that. The soundtrack also slaps and funnily enough, I got caught stealing by the potential love interest so I never saw the G A Y stuff in here. But either way it's Pride Month and y'all can just play another game or stop being bigots, ya know? Anyways, great game!

Loved the quick and simple story with some simple puzzles and gameplay here and there. Bought it as soon as i saw that mah boi Dave Fennoy (Lee from Telltale's TWD) was in this BUT sadly with the low budget, the game is NOT fully voice acted. Characters mainly just grunt or say like one word at a time. I would've happily paid an extra $5 or $10 if they were fully voiced. Hopefully, maybe the devs can update it with more voice lines if it sells well? Here's to hoping.
