48 year old gamer here. This game brings me back the golden age of jrpgs! It looks great, has fun combat , interesting to explore environments, and solid story so far. I had to make choice between this and Starwars Outlaws for game purchase of the month. I think I made the right choice!✌️

Apparently, Ouka Studios is getting shut down...
Sad and infuriating.
This is the first Mana game I've played. It's also my favourite game of 2024 so far. I bought it after playing the demo. I enjoyed the demo so much that I bought it twice (on Xbox and PS). It's very sad to hear that just days after the release of this insanely beautiful, colourful, and relaxing game, some suits decided to begin the process of shutting down the studio. Very sad.

Now bring the others!
Pre ordered this game and I hope SE brings the mana series to Xbox. I'd be delighted if we get collection of mana so I can show the kids the games I grew up with. Do it SE!

Better than I expected, honestly.
I had Secret of Mana on SNES growing up, played the fan translation of 3 back in the early days of emulation, and platinumed Trials of Mana on PS4. I'm very happy with my purchase of this game so far, but I'm going to use my limited text here to talk about all the minor annoyances I've had because I think that's more helpful.
There's items and collectables all over the place, and you have a double jump to help explore the maps. You get used to this type of movement, and then in town areas it takes away your double jump for no reason, which really feels jarring every single time I enter a town and try to navigate like I am used to.
The game also *really* wants you to get all the items, and marks chests on the map as well as shining a green light beam on them. I don't see a way to turn this off, and it kind of kills the fun of exploring on my own.
Jumping is janky. You can hit your head on nothing, You can switch to party members when they somehow jump to where you can't normally get
