Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand
Focus Entertainment · Action & adventure
In solo or co-op, experience Reign of Sand, the ultimate version of Atlas Fallen. Ride the sands of a timeless land and defeat legendary monsters in spectacular Action-RPG combat using devastating powers.
Start area is this this game's worse enemy. Darksiders like game, great combat once you get the dodge/parry system down. Even better with the various equipable stones. Story is mysterious and interesting, Coop is nice. Pro tip: You will want to explore, but get the double air dash ASAP. Get OP by getting the rare loot perk upgraded

Almost Passed It Up
Turns out game reviewers are becoming just as jaded as movie/TV critics. This game plays and looks great. The voice acting isn't awesome, but the world-building elements are quite unique to make up for the presentation I think. An easy way to know that you will probably enjoy the gameplay on offer here: you miss the Darksiders series, and thoroughly enjoyed the likes of Jedi: Survivor from earlier this year. There is no metroidvania angle here, but it's a smooth, digestible open world. It gets bonus points for difficulty options, a range of post-processing sliders, and in-game FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE gamepad inputs!

Feels like what the devs wanted to put out initially!
I'll start with a disclaimer, 1. I played this game when it originally came out and enjoyed it (maybe in the 3.5 stars range). It left a lot to be desired in terms of story, I don't care for aerial combat, but this game forces you to and did a mediocre job of it, and the prologue almost made me rage quit for spending money on it immediately. and 2. I'm only about 40 minutes in to the update, but the fact that I'm this willing to already leave a review says something in and of itself. I will say this, THANK YOU DEVS!!!! It really feels like the devs listened to the complaints. The prologue sped through, the tuturial prompts have been helpful, the graphics seem better (but I did adjust the settings a bit), and literally, the combat, aerial combat, movement, traversal...everything, so far, feels like an improvement. Initial impression (minus story): this update has left me feeling like this is what the devs intended to release.

Exactly what I needed
Super fun, no microtransactions, no glitches, just the right amount of difficult, plenty of exploration. If you liked the Darksiders games you'll like this.

Kinda a lot to take in at first
Game is fun, takes a minute to get adjusted with the onslaught of upgrades at the beginning. That can be a little overwhelming. But I dedicated several hours to give it a fair chance and I am really enjoying it now. Haven't done co op yet, but I Imagine it's an awesome game to play with a friend. Still your standard, somewhat repetative, epic fights hack and slash like God of War or Devil May Cry. I like it at least, takes my mind off everything.
