Chained Echoes Complete Edition

Absolutely love these kind of games. Up there with the best SNES turnbased rpgs. Play it!

This game was and is a fantastic love letter to the golden age of JRPG's. The influences come from big and small games and can be found in everything from the characters to the music. Once you adapt to the SP and loot system, it becomes easier to grind for the tougher fights. You can also lower the enemy stats as you are still learning so you don't get overwhelmed (ran into some tough veggies when I was still early on and almost quit, glad I didn't). Anyway, play it already! I've been playing JRPG's since 1986 and this is easily in my top 10.

This was my first JRPG experience aside from miserably failing Octopath Traveler. Its beginner friendly and quite addictive in a good way! Great open world and side quest system along with a reward board that serves a purpose. Power scaling is great and the secrets are exciting to come across. Story is also equally amazing and isn't just your cliché fantasy storyline. The entire game was well delivered and nicely executed! I would genuinely recommend this game to anyone with the hopes of even a sequel/prequel. Because of this game, I might dive deeper into JRPGs!!

Traditional RPG format with enough tweaks to be original. I wan to marry this game and have long walks on the beach with it. I love it lol

So I rate RPGs on a scale of 1 to Chrono Trigger. This is a Chrono Trigger. Fun and interesting combat mechanics that are more than just selecting Attack 90% of the time.
