El Paso, Elsewhere

As someone who grew up in El Paso, I can confirm we have vampire filled motels that break reality when you enter. Still better than Days Inn.

The indie GOATs Strange Scaffold and Xalavier Nelson Jr. Continue to deliver and like this Uzi they don't miss! Preem voice acting from Xalavier himself with a great story and awesome moment to moment action. The shotgun is one of the all time greats. So good you'll want Denny's after, because this game is a GRAND SLAM!!!

When I beat the game, I watched through the credits and read every name. Then sat in silence for a few minutes.

The gameplay is simple. You go from level to level stylishly killing monsters in slow motion and saving innocents while managing heals, ammo, and a powered melee move that uses spikes, all while listening to a great soundtrack. The only complaints I have are that you don't automatically reload your weapons (can be turned on in settings) and the default controlls are a bit janky. Also, there doesn't seem to be an option to disable aim acceleration.

An excellent homage to all of Remedy's shooters, and a must-play for the retro horror crowd. Levels feel short at times, but I'm only halfway through and already feel like I've gotten my money's worth of fun. There's a few small graphical issues (a lot of "no texture" pink in the distance and weird load/cull zones), but they're easily forgivable for now.
