Evil West

Yeah I found a bug or two, yeah it's not "Tripple A". But hot damn is it ever fun! The story is kinda dumb, but the characters and voice acting are pretty great. The world invented here is juicy with lore, making the vampires really gross. The cut-scenes are top notch. The combat is really fun, from both long distance and up close. Once you get about an hour into the game, you'll be spoiled for choice with all the ways you can dispatch each creature. The action is pretty tough, but you'll figure it out. Graphics aren't the best, but they're still really good. No open world, but there's still a bit of exploration to find lore and cash, and the environments are pretty terrific. Upgrades are awesome: experience earned ups your melee, cash ups your weapons. Lots of different toys to play with, all of them worth your time. Auto-saves could be better, but not bad. It's just an old-school, burly action game on rails, the kind we used to get a lot of back on the 360. Pure nostalgic bliss!

I only play video games for about an hour a day, so i dont have patience or the time to play any substantially story-driven games like i use to. This is a perfect game for stressless fun with acceptable voice acting and storyline. 40$ seems more of a fair price. Im still happy with purchase

This game is great, but has few things holding it back. The atmosphere is fantastic, the combat is top notch, and the monster designs are a joy. HOWEVER, there are some gripes: 1. The enemy placement could be so much better. For most of the game, enemies are relegated to arenas. The game would greatly benefit if it had monsters sprinkled throughout the levels. The way it is, there are few surprises. You know exactly when you will be fighting and when you wont. And sometimes it would be fun to fight one or two at a time. Unfortunately, when enemies do show up, they come in chaotic battles. 2. I encountered a game breaking bug. Only way to proceed was to find a way to clip through the level into the next arena. 3. Spotty and unreliable autosaves. No manual save option. 4. No option to restart a level. That baffles me. 5. Finally, I wish it were longer with more replayability because. I greatly enjoyed the game as a whole. I hope there will be further installments.

If Van Helsing and God of War had a baby this would be it! Gameplay is great, just wish there was more to explore. Sequel please!!! Oh and "if ur like me" don't try on the hardest difficulty for your first playthrough like I did, you'll hate the game, play it on a easier difficulty first because there's a NewGame+
