FARCRY 6

🤣

Your characters are so insufferable that i didnt want to continue helping them.

The Bad: So far, the excitement just isn't there. These games are supposed to be story driven. What I've seen and experienced isn't. The call to adventure after the first island was 100% fecal. Its literaly either play or don't. I've yet to find a main npc that dosent feel like a self-insert or a stereotype and its cringy af. Missions feel like a murderious chore list instead of objectives and goals. The jungle feels like it was supposed to be a desert. The most unforgivable offense is the bad guy is flat and boring. Gargamel is a better villan. The Good: Combat is fun and fluid. The vehicles are *mostly* good and feel like you're driving, terrain changes included. The animals are dangerously sneaky and feel like a part of a world you're stumbling through. The map is large and open from the start. The side missions are plentiful and entertaining (if a bit repetitive). Gear loadouts are a time saver. Tanks feel like tanks! The world is interesting, fun to explore and feels lived in.

People are right. Its not a bad game but there is little engaging about it. I thought the graphics, environment, annnd the dog companion would be enough but it's not. The problem is the story beats don't feel right and te characters are too intense without real depth of emotion. Each new crew member you earn seems bipolar and you're introduced to them in the middle of a manic episode. There doesn.t feel like there is real risk or backstory. The premise is great and there actually is backstory but it.s all exposition. Perhaps the failure is too much tell instead of show. Gameplay mehanics ae basically from the last game and so are the fight mechanics. The game iis like a dinner where you throw in things you like but what comes out just isn't good either. Maybe not bad but nnnnnot good enough o mae again. I'm about 20 hours in and throwing in the towel out of boredom.

The allies you are supposed to help are so horrible I actually wanted to have the antagonist succeed.
